"Johnny's love of nature originated from his Eagle Scout days and from his college curriculum in Wildlife Science. His love of water started in high school when he was a varsity swimmer, lifeguard and water safety instructor. Following his MBA in Marketing Communications, he pursued a career in the oncology drug industry for 33 years while sneaking off for his undersea worldwide photography expeditions.
He won a photography award in the Kona Classic Photography Competition for his composition of Raccoon Butterflyfish. He was first published in 2006 in Nature Photographer Magazine, as writer and photographer in a feature article entitled, 'Indonesia's Raja Ampat Island Group.' In 2017, he had a photo appear in the Colorado AAA Encompass publication. Recently, Johnny had photos chosen to appear in the underwater galleries of resorts in the Great Barrier Reef and Papua New Guinea. Most of Johnny's recent trips occur in the coral triangle where the planets underwater bio-diversity has the greatest concentration of life. These specific locations include the Philippines, Indonesia, and New Guinea Island.
Johnny is a member of the Professional Association of Dive Instructors and is certified as a PADI Divemaster. As a member of the Durango, Colorado community, he lives with his wife- Amy and their dog- Sport."
