The Joyful Nook Gallery of Durango is dedicated to the creative expressions of the heart of Durango. The company is located at 640 Main Ave which is in the historical section of downtown Durango, Colorado. The company was formed in 2016 with the founding members being Joy Hess and Christine Mullholand.
We manufacture hand crafted, high quality wooden puzzles using local artist's beautiful original artwork. Our puzzle pieces are uniquely designed to match the theme of the puzzle image. We call them "Gozintas" because our darling pieces "goes into" other pieces creating a stunning puzzle masterpiece.
The Joyful Nook of Durango's mission is to also develop and create a destination that sells heart-felt "paper product" based creations to Durango's community and visiting guests that generates the spirit of the art culture and energy which makes Durango unique. The "paper products" alter the way one thinks about paper by defining one's personality through "paper products" via puzzles, journals, cards, etc. The store offers retail stationery products, fine specialty papers, note and greeting cards, paper and book making kits and supplies and handcrafted puzzles.
The store is well versed in the fine art of correspondence, printing processes and fashionable, current design always looking for what is currently trending while honoring longstanding traditions.
We believe the art of handwritten messages is not gone, and we are offering that platform in many ways for personalization. The store offers many cool custom-made services to our customers.

CO-OWNER I graduated with a BA from Fort Lewis College in Durango CO, received my masters at the University of New Mexico and got my creativity from growing up with limited art supplies and almost no books. Although the box of crayons, package of markers, Big Chief notebook, and Encyclopedia Britannica provided hours of imagination and entertainment. |
